How Nothinq works

Everything you need to get going, from your first question to a published site. Can't find it here? Write to us and a person answers.

Getting started

Nothinq runs on Puter, a cloud account that signs you in, pays the AI providers and keeps your files. Press Sign up, make or pick a Puter account in the window that opens, and you're in.

  • Every Puter account gets a free AI allowance that renews each month. Each reply shows what it cost.
  • Your chats and settings live in your browser, with a copy in your own Puter storage when sync is on (Settings › Data).
  • Signed in, typing Nothinq's address opens your chats. The homepage is a click away in the note that appears, or from the logo on any page of the site.

Models and Auto

  • The model menu beside the send button lists every text model on Puter, with its price. Pick one and it stays picked for that chat.
  • Auto picks a model for each message: a fast, cheap one for quick questions, a stronger one for code and hard problems. The reply says who answered. If the cheap model can't answer well, it hands the message to a stronger one.
  • Type @ and a model's name to bring it into the chat for one message. It reads everything said so far.

Compare, Panel and Team

  • Compare sends one message to three or six models and shows the answers side by side. Carry on with the one you like.
  • Panel has several models answer and check each other, then gives you one merged answer that says where they agreed and where they didn't.
  • Team gives models roles and lets them debate a hard question over a few rounds; a judge writes the verdict. You can jump in any time.
  • Settings › Models › Ask together shows which models take part, and lets you change them.

Slides, docs, pictures, video and voice

  • Pick a task under the message box (Slides, Site, Doc, Picture, Video, Speech, Research), or just ask in your own words.
  • What you make opens beside the chat, ready to edit, present or export (PPTX, PDF, Word, PNG and more).
  • Pictures, video clips and voice-overs come from the image, video and voice models on Puter. Ask for a change and the next picture builds on the last one; @mention another model to edit it, or turn a picture into a clip.
  • Research searches the web and writes a report with sources you can check.

Building with Work

  • Describe a site, an app, a game or a deck. Work writes the files, checks the build, fixes what breaks and keeps every version.
  • Plan talks it through first and writes a plan you can change; Build makes it. Switch with the toggle in the message box, or press Build this on a plan.
  • Pick a stack (React, Next.js or plain HTML) when Work asks, or say it in your request: the request has the final say.
  • Click anything in the preview and say what to change. Restore any earlier version from the history.
  • If a reply is cut off (you pressed Stop, or the connection dropped), press Continue: the files it finished are already saved, and a file it was halfway through is kept and finished from where it stopped.
  • Publish puts the site on its own puter.site address. Add your Supabase project in the project's settings for a real database.
  • Stronger coding models build better. Free and small models work too: Work gives them a simpler stack and tighter instructions.

Connecting your apps

  • Ask about your inbox, calendar or files and Nothinq offers to connect the app right there, or go to Settings › Connectors.
  • Apps connect through your own Composio account. Nothing is sent, posted, booked or deleted until you approve it on a card.
  • Disconnect any app in Settings › Connectors.

Library and export

  • Everything you make lands in your Library, with its versions and the model that made it. Search it from ⌘K.
  • Export one thing from its menu, or everything from Settings › Data.

On your phone

Nothinq works in your phone's browser, with the same account and the same chats when sync is on. To keep it on your home screen like an app:

  • iPhone and iPad: open Nothinq in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: open it in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen).

It then opens full screen, straight into your chats. Dictation, pictures and files work on phones too.

Credits and costs

  • AI is billed to your Puter account at Puter's prices; Nothinq adds nothing on top. See the pricing page.
  • Settings › Account shows your allowance. Puter's dashboard shows when it renews.
  • Out of credit? Wait for the monthly renewal, pick a free model, or move to one of Puter's plans.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • ⌘K search everything · ⇧⌘O new chat · ⌘B sidebar
  • ⌥M switch model · ⌥P Build or Plan in Work · Esc stop the reply
  • ⌥/ shows them all, written for your keyboard.

When something goes wrong

  • A model is busy or fails: try again, or pick another; Auto steps around models that are down.
  • A build won't start: open the console under the preview and press Fix with Nothinq, or ask Work to fix the error.
  • Signed out unexpectedly: sign in again with the same Puter account; your chats are still there.
  • Something else: Help & feedback in the account menu sends us a note with what went wrong.
